The summer continues. Many people are worried about soaking up the sun, and the last thing on their minds is reading. I can understand that. I’m kind of in the same phase at the moment. It’s been a few weeks since I read a book, which is a catastrophe. No, seriously. That’s not on. I’ll start reading a new book on Sunday.
For the last two weeks, I haven’t posted a short story. This is the second article in a row that I’ve published, and it’s because I’ve been busy setting up a new business. It’s not related to publishing, but it is a project that I’m excited about. It’s taken up quite a bit of my time, but I’m looking forward to it.
If it succeeds, I’ll tell you about it. If it doesn’t, I’ll return to this post and delete the last few sentences to ensure that they never existed. Ha! That’s one way to avoid failure. Actually, I’m pretty confident that it will succeed. But whatever happens with it, I’ll continue to write. Writing is my true passion. I love it, and I wish I had more time for it. I’m going to make time for it.
Next week, you can expect another new short story. Of course, it will be free, even though I’ll spend hours writing, editing and publishing it. But I love to write. Truth be told, I write more for myself than anyone else. If someone enjoys my reading, I’m grateful for that. If nobody enjoys my writing, I’ll always be glad that I wrote a piece because it’s one more stride that I took to improve my craft.
It’s Friday night for me, and I’m exhausted. Tomorrow, I have to continue working on my business, and on Sunday, I’ll write and read. Yipee!
Until next week.
