It’s February 14. Happy Valentine’s Day. And it just so happens to fall on a Friday. Great day to go out and meet somebody if you’re alone. Unless, you’re in a rainy, breezy place with temperatures at almost 0 degrees.
That’s where I am at the moment. And the last thing on my mind is going out in these conditions, hoping that I’ll meet an attractive woman. It could happen, but my warm room seems more alluring than possibly facing cold, harsh rejections. But I’d gladly take those chances if it was warm.
I can’t wait for spring. It’s the time of the year when women are ubiquitous, and many tend to wear what pleases a man’s eyes. That period usually brings out the best in everybody, so smiles and kind gestures are more common than in cold temperatures.
After being exposed to European winters for the last four years, I decided that I want to be in warm places all year round. That’s going to require me to travel, which is something I’m looking forward to.
Wherever the sun shines, that’s where I’ll be. However I look at it, being in warm weather beats staying indoors to avoid the cold. My dating life improves significantly in warm weather because I’m out and about more, chatting up women and pushing my luck as far as I can take it.
I’ve always lived by the motto that you only know where the line is once you’ve crossed it. It’s my intention to keep crossing.
If you’re snuggling up to a sexy partner tonight and plan to get your freak on, good for you. Have fun. Just remember, there’s no party without the balloons.
And if you’re like me, spending V-day by yourself, don’t lose hope. Whether your goal is to get laid or find a partner, get out there and meet people.
I know it can suck to be alone on this day, especially if all your friends have dates tonight and you’re going to be at home because you don’t have any plans. But tomorrow is another day.
Go out and speak to people. I definitely will. Get in a social mood by chatting with everyone. Then, when the person you like appears, talking to him or her will feel normal because you’ve already built momentum by talking to people.
It will all work out if you put in the work.
I hope you enjoy the rest of what’s left of your V-day. Next week, I’ll post a new short story, and I’m excited to start writing them again. I took a break from posting stories on this blog because I’m busy with another project.
Oh, also, my debut novel, My Wife and Girlfriend, is available for only $0.99 for a few more days, and then I’ll raise the price. Get it now while it’s at a rock-bottom price.
