The last few weeks have been hectic. I’m a few days away from launching my new business, which is unrelated to this project, but it’s exciting, nonetheless. I mentioned in last week’s post that I will share the details of the business only if it’s successful. If it doesn’t work out, I’ll still share my experience.
So, what does that mean for new weekly posts? Well, I’m publishing this post to ensure that I follow the schedule religiously. But articles aren’t my forte. I love publishing short stories. In last week’s post, I mentioned that I would publish a short story this week. I was exhausted every day, and the last thing on my mind was writing a short story this week.
I’m nearing the launch of my business, which means that regular scheduling will commence—I will have time to write short stories. Yay!
I’m 99% certain that I will publish a new short story next week. I don’t want to fully commit to it because something might come up, hindering me from delivering on my promise.
Writing is my passion, and I have to make more time for it. That’s indisputable.
The most challenging aspect of writing a short story is the premise. I also strive to entangle a twist to surprise readers and make them question everything they read.
To make good on my promise of publishing a story next Friday, I’ll start writing it on Saturday morning. I don’t know what it’s going to be about, yet. But I’ll come up with something good.
Writing is where my soul rests. My mind traverses a battlefield to claw up a hill to reach the keys on my laptop. The words are stored in my head and want to flow to my fingertips. All I have to do to unleash a deluge of creativity is practise discipline. That’s the hardest part.
Day one begins tomorrow.
