Several years ago when I was an accountant, a colleague of mine was getting married and she asked me to be the MC at her wedding. I happily agreed to do it and then asked about how she had met her husband. She said that they met on a dating site.
As she continued to reveal more information, I discovered it was an adult dating site. My bottom lip dropped, to think that you can go from meeting someone online to marrying them. What’s more, is that she said that she joined the site to get nookie after a bad breakup. Those were her words.
I figured that she was an isolated incident and that most women were on dating sites to explore the last avenue in finding true love. Turns out that’s not the case for many women on dating sites.
Just this morning, my new colleague told me about meeting the love of his life. It was also on a dating site. Although he fell in love with his current girlfriend, he said he had slept with numerous women that he met on dating sites before meeting her. He attests to his friend also having met numerous sexual partners on a dating site.
Other men have also told me about dating sites being a target-rich environment for women wanting to get banged. I haven’t tried dating sites myself, but it makes sense that women who are looking for the love of their lives online may also want some action while en route to finding a husband.
I must say that I’m curious about trying Tinder because I tried a dating site before and got messages from several women whom I didn’t respond to because a standard account didn’t allow for communication.
The men who have been successful at getting laid on dating sites have told me it’s mostly women in their 30s and 40s who are down for action. They also said that your profile needs to have your best picture and that you should take it step by step once you find a match. Get to know her first and then escalate. No rushing.

If I try dating online, it’ll be interesting to see my results. If I go through with it, I’ll do a follow-up post of my results.
